Writer: Blake CahillBlake Cahill

As it seems in these difficult times that we may be running out of time with the issues of the world and in the day to day life. People seem to get so reactive. Panic has hit are grocery stores and our minds. What we need is to connection to things that are timeless and there for eternal. What we need is a touch of imagination. A purpose beyond our mortal selfs. Pure potentiality in the world of spirit. This is the calling to pull us closer together in these difficult times. So lets ignite our inner light in story and tap into our emotional and mythical selves.

Once upon a time, An old man in ancient China, woke up one morning and realized one of his mare was missing. Back then having horses was your measure of wealth. To lose a horse could be detrimental to your acquisition. When he told the fellow townsmen they helped him search or his mare all day until dusk. In the evening the people of the town said this was an awful tragedy. The old man just replied it is what it is, and I will not be upset or inconvenienced by my loss.

The next day the old man woke up and when he stepped outside to his surprise he saw his mare being followed by a beautifully strong steed. This was surely a blessing the townsman thought. And they celebrated the old man's upcoming. they spoke about how much abundance has come into his life and how he should be grateful. The Old Man simply replied it is what it is I am glad to have my mare back and the additional steed. The townsman were shocked by his calm demeanorIn thought the old man must be crazy.

A couple of weeks later the old man's son was attempting to break the steed when he fell off and broke his leg. The people of the Town gathered gave their condolences and said how tragic this is. the old man said it is what it is I will take care of my son and go about my life. At this point the townsmen thought there must be some ancient knowledge in this benevolent old man.

A couple of months go by in a war in China breaks out. They are calling every male of fighting age to join the cause. Some soldiers were passing by and saw the strong steed out front of a home and thought this must be a home of a great warrior. When they came to the door to their surprise they found an old couple and a crippled boy. They were marked If this boy was not crippled he would be a great warrior and addition to the cause.

The point of the story is to not to be so over-reactive when we are unsure of the outcome. Some tragic things can be a blessing in disguise. And even though the old man did not foresee the future he remain calm and therefore transcended the pain and sorrow in his life. We need to allow ourselves to be touched by the uncertain beauty in life. By tapping into our emotional and mythical selves we become the benevolent old man. Able to see past the uncertainties of life. So in this time of isolation using our imagination to create the eternal connection between all of us is paramount. To meditate is to connect to ones self internal and in turn is to connection to the divine. Holding onto hope in life is the key to the eternal essence that binds us together. It is the internal thread that connects us all to the one divine. And when we follow that thread back home we awaking our imagination and bring timelessness back into time. How wonderful and expensive it is to be pulled from time into the eternal.
